Atlanta Gladiators News Release
DULUTH, Ga. - Gladiators alternate captain and current leading scorer, Casey Pierro-Zabotel has been recalled by the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL, the team announced on Monday.
Pierro-Zabotel, 26, leads the Gladiators in scoring through 11 games this season. He has tallied seven goals and six assists, including three goals and an assist this past weekend.
Pierro-Zabotel is also the longest tenured Gwinnett player on the roster, with 123 games played in a Gladiators uniform - placing him in the top-25 all-time. That distinction has now been passed on to his line-mate, second-year forward Brenden Walker, who has played in 67 games with Gwinnett.
For the Kamloops, British Columbia native, this will be his third trip to the AHL, after previous assignments with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Charlotte. He has played in 14 AHL games, totaling three points on one goal and two assists.
Pierro-Zabotel departs the Gladiators a few days before the team's trip to Estero, Fla. to take on the Florida Everblades. The team's next home game will be on Tuesday, November 25th against the South Carolina Stingrays.
