- The Missouri Mavericks (4-4-0-0) saw their three-game win streak come to an end as they fell to the Allen Americans (4-3-0-0) by a 3-1 score at the Independence Events Center on Friday night.

- Kellan Tochkin scored for the third straight game for the Mavericks and Jack Combs scored a pair of goals and had an assist leading the offense for Allen. Combs now leads the Americans with six goals on the season.

- Game Recap.

- MISSOURI (7) @ TULSA (4) - Saturday, November 15th

- The Missouri Mavericks (5-4-0-0) got back in the win column on Saturday night with a 7-4 win over the Central Division leading Tulsa Oilers (5-4-1) at the BOK Center in Tulsa.

- The win is the fourth in Missouri's last five games and it is the seventh straight win in Tulsa for the Mavs over the past two seasons. Missouri is 35-10-3 all-time against Tulsa. The seven goals for the Mavs mark the largest offensive output this season (scored five times in win in Tulsa on November 4 and in win in Wichita on November 9).

- The Mavs were all over the Oilers in the opening minutes of the first period with Chris Crane scoring a pair of goals in a two minute time frame, his first two goals of the season.

- MISSOURI

@ WICHITA

- Sunday, November 16th

- The Missouri Mavericks (5-5-0-0) saw their three-game road win streak come to an end on Sunday in Wichita with a 3-1 loss at the hands of the Thunder (4-5-1-1). Wichita has won two of three this season against the Mavs, all in Wichita, and with the win snaps their own personal three-game home losing streak.

- For the second straight game, it was Chris Crane who drew first blood. The chance came off a turnover at the Wichita blue line where Ross Ring-Jarvi took the puck and found Crane for his third goal of the season (third in the last four periods). Ring-Jarvi and Devin DiDiomete were credited with the assists.

|This Week|

- The Missouri Mavericks have another three-game weekend ahead of them as they start the weekend at home at Independence Events Center on Friday, November 21st against the Tulsa Oilers. The Mavs have bested the Oilers in each of their three matchups so far this season, but Friday is the first time Tulsa will face Missouri at the IEC. Wichita owns the edge in their series with the Mavs through three games, but Missouri looks to even the playing field on Saturday in Wichita. The Mavericks will host their first of four Sunday contests on the 23rd as they drop the puck against the Quad City Mallards for the first time this season.

o MIZ vs TUL - Friday, November 21st - 7:05pm (CST)

o MIZ @ WIC - Saturday, November 22nd - 7:05pm (CST)

o MIZ vs QDC - Sunday, November 23rd - 4:05pm (CST)

- Road Warriors

o The Mavericks are through their first 10 games of the season and eight of those have been away from home. So far, Missouri is 4-4 on the road (the four road wins are tied for the most in the Central Division). The Mavs had their three-game road win streak come to an end on Sunday in a game that was their third in a 48 hour period. Only Stockton has played more road games than Missouri as they are 1-8 in their nine away games this season.

- Too Much Time in the Box

o Sitting near the top of the penalty minutes leaders in the ECHL is not where Head Coach Richard Matvichuk wants to see his team. The Mavs are second in the league averaging 22.30 PIM's per game (Wheeling is first at 23.30). As a team, the Mavericks are averaging seven minor penalties per game and coupled with their 80% penalty kill (20th in the ECHL), it shows why they are having trouble gaining momentum.

- Defensive Sniper

o Martin Lee has been a nice addition to the blue line for Missouri scoring three goals with three assists in eight games since being acquired via trade. Lee is tied for the ECHL lead among defensemen with three power play goals and on the season, he is sitting with a +3 plus/minus rating. Lee has scored three of the Mavs four power play goals so far this season.

- Special Team Struggles

o Missouri is having trouble finding the net on the power play scoring just four times in 42 chances sitting last in the ECHL (9.5%). Maybe more concerning is that the Mavs have allowed 60 power plays against (18 more than they have had) and have allowed 12 goals sitting 20th in the ECHL on the penalty kill at 80%. IN contrast, last season while in the CHL, the Mavs were first in not only power play percentage (22.7%) but were also first on the PK at 87.2%.

- Tochkin Picking up the Pace

o Missouri forward Kellan Tochkin saw his four-game point streak come to an end in Sunday's 3-1 loss at Wichita. In his previous four games, the Abbotsford, British Columbia native had four goals and an assists and was a +5. On the season, Tochkin has four goals and three assists in 10 games.

- Captains

o On Friday, October 24th the Missouri Mavericks officially announced that veteran forward Sebastien Thinel had been voted Team Captain by his teammates for the fourth consecutive year.

o Andrew Courtney and veteran Garett Bembridge will wear the "A" as Alternate Captains during home games for the Mavericks this season, and veterans Scott Langdon and David Rutherford will wear the "A" during away games for the Mavs.

- Season Tickets

o For the 6th consecutive season, the Missouri Mavericks have increased their Season Ticket Holder accounts entering the 2014-15 season.

- Mavericks sign KC native, Jared Brown.

o On Monday, October 13th the Missouri Mavericks signed KC native Jared Brown to their 2014-15 roster. The Gardner, Kansas local spent his last two seasons north in South Dakota, playing for Mavs league rival the Rapid City Rush. A fan of everything Kansas City, Brown is happy to be home playing for the Mavericks and representing the city he loves.

- Mavericks welcome "The New Era" of hockey with move to ECHL

o On Tuesday, October 7th the Missouri Mavericks were officially accepted as a member team of the ECHL, along with the 6 other teams of the former Central Hockey League (CHL), forming one Premier 'AA' Hockey League in North America. This historic move brings about many changes for the KC franchise, but changes for the better that should leave no doubt in fans' minds that hockey is here to stay in Kansas City.

o The Missouri Mavericks are now a part of a 28 team league spanning from coast to coast with clubs in 20 states and 1 Canadian province. Now in its 27th season, the ECHL has affiliations with 28 of the 30 National Hockey League (NHL) teams in 2014-15. There have been over 541 players who have gone on to play in the NHL after starting their careers in the ECHL. 72 former ECHL players were on opening-day rosters in the NHL this season.
