Game Notes: vs. Evansville

Overview: The Cyclones start a stretch of four games over the next five days, on Tuesday night against the Evansville IceMen. Cincinnati is coming off of 5-3 win over the Quad City Mallards on Saturday night, and have won five of their last six games played.

Saturday Night Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (26-20-3-2) picked up a 5-3 win over the Quad City Mallards on Saturday night. Forward Jack Downing recorded a pair of goals, while forwards Joe Pendenza, Zach Budish, and Tommy Mele scored lone tallies for the Cyclones. The Cyclones were outshot, 29-26 on the night, with goaltender Andy Iles stopping 26 to collect the win. Cincinnati's power play was a deciding factor in the game, converting on two-of-three chances.

Friday Night Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (25-20-3-2) fell to the Quad City Mallards, 6-2, on Saturday night. Forwards Nick Huard and Branden Gracel scored the goals for the Cyclones, who see their four-game winning streak snapped. The Cyclones were outshot on the night, 35-27, with goaltender Andy Iles stopping 25 to take the loss. Netminder Brandon Whitney came in in relief to start the third, and he stopped four of the six shots he saw.

Sunday Recap: The Cincinnati Cyclones (25-19-3-2) picked up a 4-3 overtime win over the Evansville IceMen on Sunday evening. Forwards Nick Huard, Zach Budish, and Peter Quenneville scored the goals in regulation, while forward Tommy Mele recorded the game winner in overtime for the Cyclones. The Cyclones outshot Evansville, 45-37 on the night, including a combined 23-9 in the third period and overtime. Cyclones netminder Andy Iles stopped 34 shots he faced, while the power play converted on two of three chances.

Previewing Evansville: The IceMen are coming off of a big win over the ECHL-leading Missouri Mavericks, 2-1, on Sunday night, after falling to Missouri, 4-3 in overtime on Saturday. Evansville is led by forward Nathan Moon, who has accounted for 10 goals and 23 assists through the first 48 games of the season. He is followed by forwards Daultan Leveille (19g, 13a) and Tyson Fawcett (17g, 12a) who round out the top three.

Inside the Series: This will be the seventh of nine meetings this season between the Cyclones and IceMen, with Cincinnati posting a 4-2-0-0 record in the first six games. The Cyclones took the last meeting between the two sides, a 4-3 overtime win last Sunday in Evansville, and Tuesday will also mark the final home game of the season with the IceMen.

Next Game Preview: The Cyclones continue their four-game homestand on Wednesday night against the Atlanta Gladiators. This is the second of two meetings between Cincinnati and Atlanta this season, with the Gladiators taking the lone meeting, 5-2, back on January 6.
