South Carolina Stingrays News Release
WATCH PARTIES AT KING STREET GRILLE-NORTHWOODS:
King Street Grille-Northwoods has become the Watch Party Destination for Stingrays road games during the 2015-2016 season, including games this week. Fans 21 and up may enjoy a special offer of $3 Drafts, including Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Shocktop and Landshark during all Stingrays Watch Parties at King Street Grille.
PINK IN THE RINK JERSEY UNVEIL:
The South Carolina Stingrays, alongside Trident Health, unveiled the 10th Annual Pink in the Rink jersey Monday at Trident Medical Center. The special jerseys will be worn as part of the 10th Annual Pink in the Rink presented by Trident Heath benefiting Share Our Suzy on Saturday, March 5th at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum. The jersey, navy blue in color, features highlights of pink and gray. In the gray striping on the bottom of the jersey and on the sleeves, names of over 50 women appear who have fought and survived breast cancer.
LAST WEEK'S RESULTS:
February 16: Greenville at South Carolina, 4-2 Loss
Derek DeBlois and Austin Fyten scored, but the Greenville Swamp earned a 4-2 victory over the South Carolina Stingrays last Tuesday night at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tuesday's contest was the first of four straight against the Swamp Rabbits, and the loss was the Stingrays first regulation defeat in eight games, a stretch the Stingrays went 6-1-1-0.
February 19: South Carolina at Greenville, 4-1 Win
Four goals in the first period, including two from forward Stephan Vigier, earned the South Carolina Stingrays a 4-1 win over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits last Friday night at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Forward Brett Cameron extended his point streak to eight games, collecting a goal and two assists in the victory, and South Carolina goaltender Vitek Vanecek stopped 31 shots.
February 20: South Carolina at Greenville, 4-3 Overtime Win
Brett Cameron scored 58 seconds into overtime to extend his point streak to nine games and earn the South Carolina Stingrays  their first overtime win of the season, 4-3, over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits last Saturday night at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
February 21: Greenville at South Carolina, 2-1 Win
Stephan Vigier scored a power play goal with 1:27 to play to lead the South Carolina Stingrays to a 2-1 victory over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits last Sunday afternoon at the North Charleston Coliseum. In a game that was scoreless until the third period, the Stingrays got goals from Vigier and Caleb Herbert, and 29 saves from Vitek Vanecek, to win their third straight game in as many days over the Swamp Rabbits.
RED-HOT RAYS
The Stingrays visit the Florida Everblades for three contests with their rival this week. All three matchups will be played at the Germain Arena, as the Stingrays enter the week just four points behind Florida for the top spot in the South Division. South Carolina is 8-1-1-0 in the club's past 10 games, and are coming off a 3-1-0-0 week against rival Greenville.
POWER PLAY IS ROLLING
Entering this week, South Carolina's power play has at least one goal in six straight contests. The Stingrays have gone 5-1-0-0 in that span, and are 7-for-31 on the power play in that stretch, good for 22.5%. On the season, South Carolina's power play is seventh in the league at 18.4% on the season.
THAT A-WAY VIGIER
Forward Stephan Vigier is in the midst of a five-game point streak. He has also notched power play goals in three straight games. Vigier's biggest goal last weekend came in the club's 2-1 win over Greenville on Sunday afternoon, when Vigier scored with only 1:27 to play to give the Stingrays the lead. Vigier is third on the team in points with 37.
EPP TO HIT 100
Defenseman Wade Epp will play his 100th ECHL game the next time he takes the ice. In 99 career games with South Carolina, Epp has 32 points (three goals, 29 assists) to go along with 201 penalty minutes.
NHL AFFILIATE UPDATE:
Washington Capitals (44-10-4, 1st Metropolitan Division, 1st Eastern Conference)
Notes: The Capitals, having one of the best seasons in NHL history, are 9-1-0 in their last 10 games and have won four straight games.
AHL AFFILIATE UPDATE:
Hershey Bears (29-15-3-7, 2nd Atlantic Division, 4th Eastern Conference)
Notes: Hershey is 7-2-0-1 in their last 10 games. They received defenseman Tyler Lewington from the Stingrays earlier today.
