RHP Aaron Wilkerson (3-0, 0.56) vs. RHP Josh Staumont (0-2, 2.81)
Wilkerson's Dominance: Aaron Wilkerson has been outstanding this season for the Missions and particularly this month. In May he is 2-0 with a 0.43 ERA in 21.0 innings. Since 2005 the lowest ERA by a Missions pitcher who has tossed at least 25.0 innings in a single month is 0.64 by Sean Thompson in April 2007.
Cory is Cruising: Since being Designated for Assignment, Cory Spangenberg has been one of San Antonio's top hitters. He was sent outright to the Missions and activated on May 18 and has hit .408 (20-for-49) with 10 runs, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs, 7 RBI, and 5 stolen bases since then. His on-base percentage is .464 and OPS is 1.240 during the stretch. His slash line for the season has improved from .213/.303/.324 to .275/.356/.464.
RISP Takers: Last night the Missions went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position. It was just the seventh time the Missions have been held hitless with runners in scoring position in a game this season. They are 2-5 in those seven games. It was the 15th time San Antonio has had at least 10 at-bats with runners in scoring position in a game and the first time the Missions went hitless when doing so. They are 11-4 in those 15 games.
