Reno Aces News Release

Albuquerque, New Mexico - Reno Dropped game three to the Albuquerque Isotopes tonight by a score of 9-2. The Aces offense was met by great starting pitching (6.0 IP, 6 K) and reliable relief showings (3.0 IP, 1 R, 5 H). Cody Decker (201st career home run) and Juniel Querecuto (2-for-4) led the way offensively, but the 'Topes nine-run outburst was too much to overcome. The loss sends Reno to a record of 22-33 on the season with a little over three months remaining. The team will return to the 775 on Tuesday, June 4 to take on the Nashville Sounds.

Notes & Information

MLB Forecast: The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that starting pitcher Luke Weaver has a mild flexor pronator strain and a mild UCL sprain. Torey Lovullo said it will be treated conservatively and a procedure is not in the plan at this time. What does that mean for the Reno Aces? The Aces will not see right-handers Taylor Clarke and Jon Duplantier for the foreseeable future. With Clarke and Duplantier in Phoenix, Reno will go with the rotation of Taylor Widener, Anthony Vasquez, Alex Young, Matt Koch, and Braden Shipley.

200+: Cody Decker hit his 201st career home run tonight, his 4th of the season. Decker has homered for the following teams: Lake Elsinore, Tuscon, San Antonio, El Paso, Omaha, Portland, Albuquerque, Binghamton, Las Vegas, Jackson, Reno. No other active player in Minor League Baseball has more home runs than Cody Decker.

Tomorrow's Starter: Matt Koch will get the nod for Aces manager Chris Cron tomorrow. Koch has appeared in four games this year for Triple-A Reno and made nine relief appearances for Arizona. Koch has been in the Diamondbacks organization since August of 2015. The Arizona Diamondbacks Traded RHP Addison Reed to New York Mets; in exchange for Koch. He's made 31 starts for Reno in his career and is 8-9 with a 5.99 ERA.
