From the Notes

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: The Tribe owns a four-game winning streak for the first time this season thanks to a six-run explosion over the game's final four innings. Entering the sixth, Indy trailed Rochester 2-1. With one out and Max Moroff on second, Erich Weiss swatted his second homer of the season to provide his club a lead they would not relinquish. Christopher Bostick hit a sac fly in the sixth and an RBI double in the eighth to compound the lead, and the exclamation point came from Kevin Kramer, who homered in the ninth to make the lead 7-2, where it would stay. Jose Osuna pitched in another multi-hit game, his second in as many games this series. He went 3-for-4. Alex McRae earned just his second win of the season in his 11th start. The hurler allowed two earned runs and struck out two over 5.0 innings.

THEY'RE STREAKING: Indy produced its first four-game win streak this season with the 7-2 victory Wednesday night. The Tribe hasn't won four games in a row since a four-game stretch from August 23-26 a season ago. In 2017, they put together eight streaks of four-plus wins in a row, their longest reaching eight games from May 16-21. Before its Wednesday night win, Indy reached three victories in a row twice this season but failed to get over the hump in the fourth game. Those two stretches spanned from May 12-15 and May 20-22.

HOME AWAY FROM HOME: The Indians' 7-2 win last night clinched their fourth series win at Frontier Field in the last six years. Indy and Rochester split a pair of four-game sets last season, marking the eighth time in nine seasons where the Indians have either split or won the head-to-head series over the Red Wings. The Tribe are 41-49 (.456) in Rochester dating back to 1988, but the Tribe do own an impressive 14-6 record at Frontier Field over the last six seasons.

ROAD WARRIORS: Five current Tribesmen are hitting for a higher average on the road than at Victory Field this season. With three hits Wednesday night, Jose Osuna ballooned his road average to .400, giving him the club's largest home/road split (.400 to .290). Kevin Kramer (.290 to .214), Wyatt Mathisen (.343 to .250), Christopher Bostick (.337 to .297) and Erich Weiss (.246 to .228) all have hit better on the road this season, as well.

MORE ROAD NOTES: Though certain hitters have seen success away from home, the club as a whole is 3-4-1 in road series this season, including the current series. Entering the Rochester series, the Tribe had dropped two straight road sets and were 4-6 over the previous 10 games on the road. The defeat of the Red Wings gives Indy its first away series win since May 15-17 at Norfolk.

NEW MONTH, SAME NEWMAN: After recording a team-leading 39 hits en route to a .361 average in May, Kevin Newman opened the month of June with the same firepower. In four games this month, he's knocked six hits and contributed two multi-hit games. He's also stolen three bases so far in June, upping his season total to 13. That mark pits him against Durham's Andrew Velazquez for the league lead. Newman's average through four games in June is .429 (6-for-14) with a double, three walks and two strikeouts. His 38 hits since May 8 leads the International League, and his ratio of plate appearances to strikeouts sits at 9.04, third best in the IL.

SUPER STALLINGS: With one hit on Wednesday night, Jacob Stallings extended his season-high hit streak to eight games. His current streak is tied for the fourth longest in his career. Just last season, he notched his top two hit-streaks - an 11-game stretch from July 26 to August 21 and 10-gamer from August 24 to September 4. During the current streak, Stallings has racked up 12 hits, including three doubles, and three RBI. Stallings' average of .295 (44-for-149) ranks tied for 14th in the International League and 13 doubles tie him for the 12th-best mark in the league.

HAPPY TO HAVE JOSE: Since his return from Pittsburgh on May 29, Jose Osuna has hit safely in five of his last seven games, good for a .276 average (8-for-29) in that span. In two games in Rochester, he's banged out five hits and driven in three runs. His average on the year sits at .336 (36-for-107) and he has 22 RBI with 14 doubles, tied for ninth in the IL. He's struck out 19 times in 30 games with the Indians and owns a .938 OPS.
