Charlotte, NC - The Syracuse Chiefs dropped the series finale to the Charlotte Knights, 3-1, Thursday night at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. Tommy Milone and Donny Roach kept the game tied at one in an impressive pitcher's duel, but the Knights grabbed two two-out runs in the eighth inning to take two of three games in the series.

Prior to the game, Syracuse Chiefs hitting coach Brian Daubach became the sixth person inducted into the Charlotte Knights Round Table of Honor. Daubach, a standout player for the Knights in 1997-1998 was honored into the Knights' Hall of Fame known as the Round Table of Honor in a pregame ceremony at BB&T Ballpark.

Charlotte (26-33) started the scoring in the second inning against Milone. Former Chief Matt Skole led off the inning with a triple off the top of the left-center field wall. Skole scored two batters later on a sacrifice fly by Mason Robbins to give the Knights a 1-0 lead.

Syracuse (27-30) quickly tied the game in the top of the third inning. Chris Dominguez singled to lead off the frame against Roach, and moved to second on a throwing error on a pick off attempt by Roach. Dominguez scored on Tuffy Gosewisch's RBI single to square the game at one.

The game stayed tied at one until the seventh. Milone hurled six impressive innings for the Chiefs, posting eight strikeouts on just two hits allowed. Roach was strong as well, allowing just the unearned run in seven innings of four-hit ball.

The Knights broke the tie off David Goforth in the bottom of the seventh. Charlotte loaded the bases with two singles in the inning and then a two-out walk to Eddy Alvarez. Then with a three and two count with two outs, Jacob May singled into right field to plate Mason Robbins and Alfredo Gonzalez and give the Knights the final margin of the game at 3-1.

Syracuse continues it's road trip in Lawrenceville, Georgia Friday night against the Gwinnett Stripers. RHP Erick Fedde is scheduled to start for the Chiefs opposite LHP Kolby Allard for the Stripers. First pitch from Coolray Field is set for 7:05 p.m.
