Celebrating The 20s & Team Awards

As we gear up for what hopefully is a deep playoff run, tonight presents a chance to celebrate standout players of the 2023-24 season. Before puck drop, we'll have a special ceremony to honor our 20-year-old members - Gabe Klassen, Jack O'Brien and James Stefan - in their final regular-season home game. Each of those players has become a fan favorite in his own right and we can't wait to hear you all blow the roof off the VMC as we recognize their special careers in the Rose City.

During that ceremony, we'll also announce the winners of this year's team awards:

Winterhawk Award - Given to the player who embodies character, leadership and heart & soul.

Jann and Robert Boss Best Defensive Player Award - Given to the player who performs best in the defensive aspects of the game.

Rookie of the Year Award - Given to the top first-year player on the team, determined by the team.

Sportsmanship Award - Given to the player who excels in sportsmanship and quality of play

Scholastic Player of the Year Award - Given to the player who displays excellence both in the classroom and on the ice

PWHBC Most Popular Player Award - Given to a fan-favorite Winterhawk, as determined by the Portland Winterhawks Booster Club.

Most Valuable Player - Given to the Winterhawk voted by his teammates to be most crucial to the team's success.

Be in your seats early to cheer on Gabe, Jack & James and catch the awards show!

Revenge Game

The Battle on the Sound at Climate Pledge Arena was a fantastic experience regardless of the result, but you can bet the Winterhawks felt the sting of a 5-4 OT defeat last Sunday. They remain unbeaten in regulation against the T-Birds this season and earned what was a hard-fought point against rested competition in their third game in three nights, but this opportunity for a rematch in the Rose City will be front of mind for a proud Portland group.

Busy Night On Campus

A large crowd is expected for tonight's game, and it's a dual-event night on the Rose Quarter campus. While the Trail Blazers game doesn't start until 7:00 P.M., one hour after the Winterhawks' puck drop, we encourage fans to arrive early for tonight's game. Winterhawks parking passes are for the East/West Garage tonight. VMC doors open at 5:00 P.M., and Dr. Jack's will be open at 4:00 P.M. for fans to hang out before the game!

Back On TV

If you can't make it tonight, be sure to tune in on Portland's CW! Both of the remaining games of the regular season will be featured over the air as Portland and Seattle duke it out for PNW bragging rights.
