BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Ryan Faragher recorded his first career AHL victory as the Norfolk Admirals triumphed, 3-2, over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Sunday afternoon at the Webster Bank Arena.

Once more, Norfolk's Charlie Sarault got the Admirals on the board. With just seven seconds left on the power play, Max Friberg controlled the puck behind the Bridgeport cage and pushed it into the slot. Sarault caught the puck on his stick and his one-timer was too quick for Sound Tigers goaltender Kevin Poulin. Chris Wagner earned the secondary assist at 15:37 when Norfolk took their first lead of the game.

The early second period offered three goals in the span of 2:41 and elevated the score to 2-2. Johan Sundstrom began the flurry with a snapshot from the left circle, which went through the legs of two Admirals as well as netminder Faragher. Colton Gillies and Carson McMillan assisted at 1:11 to knot the game at 1-1.

Only 45 seconds later, Norfolk regained the lead again with a Stefan Noesen deflection at 1:56. William Karlsson provided some nifty stick-handling on the left side before tossing a pass across the slot. A waiting Noesen at the goal line then lifted the puck on his backhand past Poulin.

Alan Quine tallied the equalizer when he fired one home through some traffic in front and found its way past Faragher, with helpers given to former Admirals Matt Lashoff and Cory Conacher at 3:52.

Max Friberg proved to be the hero, as with just 45 seconds remaining in regulation on a man advantage, he netted the game-winner. Andrew O'Brien fired from the high slot, a shot that was initially stopped by Poulin. Friberg pounced on the rebound that settled to Poulin's left side, and slid it under the goaltender to light the lamp. Karlsson was credited with the secondary assist as the Admirals prevailed late, 3-2.

Poulin saved 32 of 35 shots, and Faragher stopped 27 of 29 in the win. Norfolk held Bridgeport scoreless on a whopping eight power-play opportunities, while the Admirals converted twice on their eight chances.

Norfolk travels back to Hampton Roads to host two-game sets against Providence and Binghamton, beginning Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.
