Bakersfield Condors News Release

Fresno, Calif. - Dan Tessier's power play goal early in the third period tied the game up for the Fresno Falcons and led to a 3-2 shootout victory over the Bakersfield Condors at the Save Mart Center on Tuesday night.

The Condors took the lead when Guy Dupuis' shorthanded blast from the blueline deflected up over Fresno G Jamie Hodson and into the cage for his 7th of the season at 6:59. On that same power play the Falcons tied it up. G Yutaka Fukufuji got tangled up with a Fresno forward and pulled out of the net, allowing a clear shot by Shaun Sutter to make it 1- 1. Brad Mehalko regained the lead for the Condors, playing in his first game since being sidelined for 17 contests, finishing a 2-on-1 with Kevin St. Jacques.

Bakersfield dominated the second period of play but couldn't extend the lead, holding the narrow advantage heading into the third stanza. Fresno started the period on the power play after a late Condors penalty and once again their man-advantage connected, with Dan Tessier knotting the contest at 2-2 less than a minute into the third. Neither team broke the tie and Fresno eventually won in the shootout.

The Condors head to San Diego for Wednesday night's game and then return home to host the Fresno Falcons on Friday, February 11th at 7:00 p.m. After that game, fans will be treated to a live concert from international recording artists Hawk Nelson, presented by KKEY-TV 11 and Island Style. Hawk Nelson will perform inside Centennial Garden, free to everyone in attendance at the game.
