Freedom coaches headed to All-Star team

FLORENCE, KY - The Florence Freedom weren't done adding members to the 2009 all-star team after the Frontier League announced the starters last week.
Manager Toby Rumfield and hitting coach Greg Stone have been added to the coaching staff and will join the five Freedom players on the East All-Star roster.
"It's an honor to be named to the coaching staff by Fran," Rumfield said. "I look at Fran as being the best manager in this league so for him to think highly enough of me to add me to his staff means a lot"
The Fran Toby is referring to is Kalamazoo Kings manager Fran Riordan, who got to select his coaching staff after the Kings clinched the best overall record in the East for the first half of the 2009 season.
Rumfield and Stone are both in their first years with the Freedom. Rumfield spent the two previous seasons with the River City Rascals as manager. Stone spent parts of three seasons with the Freedom from 2005-2007 as a player and finished his playing career last season with Rumfield in River City.
The Frontier League All-Star game is schedule for Wednesday, July 15 at Road Ranger Stadium, home of the Rockford RiverHawks.
