
Homeruns Power the Wild Things to an 8-1 Victory, their Fourth Straight

Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things (20-26), presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, beat the Evansville Otters (15-31) by a score of 8-1 on Friday night. The Wild Things have won four straight games.
Washington led 4-0 after three innings. They scored two in the second, starting with an RBI single by shortstop Brett Grandstrand. Chris Sidick then stole third and scored on a ground ball by Michael Parker. In the third inning, Grant Psomas hit a long homerun over the left field wall that also scored Ernie Banks.
The Otters scored their only run in the fourth on a double by catcher Frank Meade, but the Wild Things answered back in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single from Parker.
In the sixth inning, Grandstrand, Parker, and Laurent hit back-to-back-to-back solo homeruns to make the score 8-1.
A strong performance from starting pitcher Brian McCullough also played a key role in the victory. McCullough pitched a complete game, striking out eight and walking only one.
The Wild Things played in front of 3,772 fans, the largest crowd of the year.
