New York Boulders News Release
Paterson, NJ - The New York Boulders continued their collective mastery over the New Jersey Jackals (19 32), completing a second split three-game series sweep of 2025 with Thursday night's 2-0 win at Hinchliffe Stadium.
It was a scoreless pitcher's duel for the first five innings between rookie righthanders, as the Jackals' Logan Waltz wound up with a no-decision in his first pro start, while the Boulders' Aidan Risse (W/ 6 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 3 BB, 5 K)) notched his third straight win.
New York (27-25) finally lit up the scoreboard with two runs in the top of the seventh against NJ's Colt Webb (L
), loading the bases with one out before 3B Fritz Genther lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, plating SS Austin Dennis and LF Isaac Bellony followed with an RBI single to chase C Jason Agresti home from second.
RHP's Scott Harper and Jordy Luciano followed Risse with a hitless inning apiece before Tyler Vail worked into and out of a bases loaded, no-out jam in the bottom of the ninth to nail down his ninth save of the year.
Also of note:
* RF Ryan McCoy reached base for the Frontier League season-high 39th straight game and extended his hitting streak to 24 games in a row, going 2-for-4 with two singles and a walk
* Agresti's franchise record 27-game hitting streak came to end as he went 0-for-4 with an intentional walk
* Dennis (3-for-4) extended his hitting streak to nine games (25-of-39), including eight with multiple hits
