Fort Wayne Komets Welcome Bloomington Tonight
December 3, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Wayne Komets News Release
The Fort Wayne Komets (5-8-1) will risk several streaks when they take to the ice at the Memorial Coliseum tonight and face the Turner Conference rival Bloomington PrairieThunder (8-6-1) at 8:00 ET.
The K's completed last week riding a three-game winning streak. The Komets have won their last two home games, they've scored at least four goals in each of the last three straight outings while netting power play tallies in four straight games.
Individually, six players are enjoying point-scoring streaks. Sean O'Connor ( 1 goal, 6 assists) and Chris Francis (1 goal, 5 assists) each have points in their last four appearances and each has a four-game assist streak. Kaleigh Schrock, Frankie DeAngelis, Brandon Warner and Mathieu Curadeau have posted points in each of the three games played last week.
The Komets will also be welcoming to the lineup Friday night veteran skater Tab Lardner, acquired from the CHL's Missouri Mavericks. Komet fans will remember Lardner for his past three seasons with the Port Huron IceHawks. Lardner is in his 11th pro year and seventh in the CHL. The left winger is seven games away from his 400th CHL game.
Other milestones to watch are Mathieu Curadeau who has 98 career goals, and Leo Thomas who has skated 491 pro games and needs to dish one more assist to reach 200 career assists.
Tonight's game will be Fort Wayne's last home game for two weeks until they meet the Dayton Gems on Coliseum ice Saturday, Dec. 18. After tonight the Komets will visit Dayton for a 7:30pm faceoff Saturday night before taking the day off Sunday.
Tonight the PrairieThunder will be playing their first of two for the week. Tomorrow Bloomington skates at Evansville. The Thunder skated four games in five nights last week (2-2-0) and are entering the week on a two-game losing streak.
Still plenty of great seats remain on sale for tonight's game against Bloomington. Tickets are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at Ticketmaster .
