
Third Period Dooms Bucks

Laredo Bucks News Release
ODESSA, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Odessa Jackalopes 4-1 Friday night at the Ector County Coliseum. The Bucks five-game point streak comes to an end as they fall to 7-9-3 (17 points).
The Jackalopes scored three third period goals to break a 1-1 tie as they improve to 8-11-1 (17 points) on the season.
Jeff Pierce (3:23) and Mike Ramsay (8:56, 14:01) scored in the third period to lead the Jackalopes to the win.
Laredo was outshot 46-19 in the game as Pier Pelletier stopped a season-high 42 of 46 shots to suffer the loss in net.
The Bucks (3-4-2 on the road) scored first for the first time in four games as they struck on the power-play 5:59 into the first period. Jeff Bes hammered in a rebound from the bottom of the right circle to pick up his ninth goal of the season. Bes has scored a goal in six of the Bucks last seven games.
Odessa (4-5 at home) would take advantage of a five-minute major power-play as they tied the game at 1-1 with 5:30 left in the first period. Jeff Pierce re-directed a shot from the point to pick up his seventh goal of the season.
The Bucks killed off the remainder of the five-minute major for 4:31 and then killed off a 25 second five-on-three late in the first period.
The Jackalopes outshot the Bucks 14-5 in the first period.
The second period was much calmer than the first as neither team was able to score keeping it tied 1-1 after 40 minutes of play.
The Jackalopes outshot the Bucks 15-7 in the second period and 17-8 in the third period.
Terry Ruskowski and Hans Benson were each given game misconducts late in the first period and were ejected from the game. Ruskowski was given a abuse of officials game misconduct at 18:37 of the period while Benson was given an illegal check to the head game misconduct at the 14:02 mark.
Jarred Mohr played in his 250th career game Friday night.
The Bucks will close out the weekend Saturday night in Allen. Game time is 7pm.
