
Former Captain Kevin Quick Returns to South Carolina

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC- The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 23 seasons in the Lowcountry and proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that they have reacquired defenseman Kevin Quick from Indy to complete a trade earlier this week that sent Andrew Johnston to the Fuel. Quick has joined the team and will play this afternoon. He will wear #19.
Quick, 27, brings vast experience and leadership to the Rays. He was a member of the Stingrays during the 2012-13 and 2013-2014 seasons, appearing in 74 games for the Stingrays during that time span. With South Carolina, he registered 21 points (three goals, 18 assists) and was named the ninth captain in team history in February 2013.
Quick was originally a third round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lighting in 2006. He skated in six NHL games during the 2008-09 season, registering one assist. Quick also has vast ECHL experience, appearing in 163 ECHL games, registering 50 points. He helped guide the Florida Everblades to a Kelly Cup Championship in 2012.
This afternoon at 3:05 p.m. the Stingrays host the Alaska Aces for Frozen Day, featuring the princesses and the snowman from the movie in attendance plus $5 Kids Tickets and $5 Kids Meals as part of the Crews Subaru and Charleston County Parks Family Days.
Our biggest game of the year is almost here! The South Carolina Stingrays host South Carolina Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center Pack the House Night on Saturday, January 23. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. versus the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. All tickets for the game are JUST $5! The evening also features FREE parking.
