NORTH CHARLESTON, SC- The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 23 seasons in the Lowcountry and proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Andrew Rowe has been recalled to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Rowe departed the team yesterday prior to puck drop of a 5-4 overtime loss to Alaska, and the Sound Tigers made the forward's recall official today.
Rowe started the season in Bridgeport but did not appear in any games as he recovered from an injury. He was loaned to the Stingrays on November 6 and skated in 28 games with South Carolina, notching 22 points (seven goals, 15 assists).
Rowe, 27, scored a team-best 56 points (17 goals, 39 assists) in only 44 games last season for the Stingrays.
