Last Night

Kevin Henderson broke a 1-1 tie with two minutes and fifty-one seconds left in the third period and Brody Hoffman made 38 saves as the Mallards defeated the host Evansville IceMen 2-1.

Streaking

Last night's win was the Mallards' third in a row.

Tight

The Mallards trail Fort Wayne (44 points) by three points in the race for first place in the Midwest Division.

Stingy

The Mallards have allowed a total of just three goals while winning their last three games.

Rematch

The Mallards and Wings today meet for the second time in three days. Matt Neal scored with 19 seconds left in overtime to give the Mallards a 3-2 victory over Kalamazoo Friday night at the iWireless Center.

Home Sweet Home

The Mallards have won back-to-back home games.

On the Road Again

Last night's game was the Mallards' first road tilt of 2016. The Mallards have won back-to-back road games- both in Evansville. The Mallards defeated the IceMen 6-4 at the Ford Center on New Year's Eve.

Three in Three

The Mallards today play a third game in three days for the fifth time this season. They are 3-1-0 when doing so.

Between the Pipes

Hoffman backstopped the Mallards to victory last night while facing at least 38 shots in a fifth straight start. Steve Michalek is tied for sixth in the ECHL in save percentage (.926).

Streaking

With an assist last night Austin Coldwell established a team season best by extending his point-scoring streak to six games (1-8-9).

Four Score

Matt Carey's team season best four-game goal-scoring streak (during which he scored five times and added an assist) ended last night.

Rook

Neal- who picked up an assist last night- leads the Mallards in goals (11), is tied for sixth among ECHL rookies in goals and is tied for eighth among rookies in points (26).

Iron Mike

Among defenseman Mike Monfredo is tied for third in the ECHL in points (24) and assists (20).

Special Teams

While Ryan Tesink's first period power play goal last night did halt a run of 12 straight unsuccessful Mallard advantages, the Mallards have now converted just one of their last 16 power plays. The Mallards rank twelfth in the ECHL on the power play (17.3 percent). The Mallards rank fourth in penalty killing (86.4 percent).

Head to Head

The Mallards improved to 2-0 against the Wings with Friday's win. The two clubs today meet in the Quad Cities for the third time before closing out their season series in Kalamazoo January 29. Prior to this season the Mallards and Wings last clashed when the Mallards defeated Kalamazoo 3-2 on March 30, 2007. The Mallards and Wings competed against each other in the United Hockey League between 2000 and 2007. The Mallards have now gone 26-19-7 in 52 all-time meetings with the Wings. They are 16-9-5 against Kalamazoo on home ice.

Ins and Outs

Zach Pochiro (upper body), who has missed the Mallards' last eight games, is on 21-day injured reserve...Sam Warning (upper body) missed last night's game.
