
Florida Panthers Reassign Jacob Markstrom

SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers Executive VP/General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has reassigned G Jacob Markstrom to the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).
Markstrom, 23, played in Florida's last two games, making 65 saves on 71 shots, in the club's losses at Pittsburgh (2/22) and vs. Boston (2/24), while recording a .915 save percentage and a 3.15 GAA. For his career in the NHL, Markstrom has played in 10 games, all with Florida (2010-2013), going 2-7-1, posting a .919 save percentage and a 2.77 GAA
The Gavle, Sweden, native has played in 33 games with San Antonio this season going 16-15-2 with a 2.65 GAA and a .920 save percentage. The 6-foot-6, 195-pound goaltender has surrendered two or fewer goals in 11 of his last 16 AHL starts and has posted an 8-4-0 record in his last 12 starts. Markstrom is currently fourth in the league in saves (994) and owns a 10-5-2 record in games where he makes at least 30 stops.
Markstrom was drafted by Florida in the second round (31st overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Florida hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins tomorrow night in their second game of a three-game home stand at 7:30 p.m. The game can be seen live on FOX Sports Florida and heard on 560 WQAM.
