Flames Sign Eric Long

Saint John, NB - The Saint John Flames announced today that they have signed 29-year-old defenceman Eric Long to a 25-game Professional Tryout Agreement.

The 6'1", 190 lb native of Longmeadow, Massachusetts had been playing with the Arkansas RiverBlades of the East Coast Hockey League this season. In 70 games with the RiverBlades, Long collected 18 goals and 29 assists for 47 points and106 penalty minutes and was tied for eighth among ECHL defencemen in scoring.

Long is expected to be available for the Flames game tonight when Saint John hosts the Quebec Citadelles at 7:30 p.m.

The Saint John Flames are the primary development organization of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames and have been a member of the American Hockey League since 1993.
