Erie SeaWolves News Release
The first place Erie SeaWolves won their fourth straight game as they took down the Akron RubberDucks, 5-1, on Friday night at UPMC Park. The win, coupled with a Bowie win against Altoona, keeps the SeaWolves lead over the Baysox at two games in the Western Division.
Erie jumped ahead in the bottom of the first inning against Akron starter Eli Morgan. Derek Hill led off the inning with a base hit and Isaac Paredes followed with a two-run home run to left for a 2-0 lead. The home run for Paredes was his 11th of the season.

The 'Wolves went ahead 4-0 in the last of the seventh against reliever Anthony Gose. Erie loaded the bases and Josh Lester drew a two-out walk.
The SeaWolves pitching staff extended their consecutive scoreless innings streak to 24 in the top of the eighth thanks in part to a spectacular defensive effort from Hill. With one out, Alex Call sent a deep fly ball to center and Hill made a leaping catch at the wall to bring back a home run.
In the bottom of the eighth with two outs, Hill made it a 5-0 game when he singled home Cam Gibson.
The lone Akron run came in the top of the ninth against Erie reliever Jose Fernandez when Trenton Brooks homered to left. Fernandez would get out of the frame with no additional damage, preserving the Erie win.

Morgan (6-3) took the loss for the Ducks allowing three runs on six hits with a walk and seven strikeouts.
