
First Place Rox Rally to Beat Larks at the Rock Pile

St. Cloud, MN - Jordan Barth (Augustana) tied the Rox single season doubles record with 22 as St. Cloud (34-20) scored seven runs in the 7th inning to beat Bismarck (26-29) 12-10. Over 2,000 fans attended the game. The Rox have won 11 of their last 13 games.
Jack Kelly (Minnesota) scored the first run of the game in the first inning, hitting a single into left field that scored Jordan Barth (Augustana) from second base. The Rox led 1-0.
Down 2-1 in the third inning, St. Cloud scored four combined runs in the next two innings. Gus Steiger (South Dakota State) scored on an error, Barth scored on a double steal from third base and Freddy Achecar (Georgetown) singled up the middle and scored Garrett Delano (Brown). In the fourth inning, the Rox extended their lead to 5-2 following a solo home run from Barth.
In the seventh inning, St. Cloud trailed 10-5. The Rox responded by batting through their lineup and scoring seven runs. Down 10-9 in the inning, Hance Smith (California-Berkeley) hit a single and scored Zack Elliott (Minnesota) to tie the game. In the next at-bat, Daniel Montgomery Jr. (Southwestern) drilled a two-run single into left field that scored Ben Carew (Kent State) and Smith to give the Rox a 12-10 lead.
RJ Martinez (Minot State) started the game and struck out five batters in the no-decision. Trae Robertson (Missouri) and Joey Stock (St. Johns) saw time on the mound out of the bullpen. Justin Wick (Creighton) earned the win and Blake Stelzer notched the save after not allowing a hit in 1.2 innings pitched to end the game.
