Fightins blanked by Thunder in series loss

The Fightin Phils (34-31) were shutout for the fourth time this season as the Trenton Thunder (37-29) won behind Aaron Judge's four-RBI night. The Fightins just managed four hits against the Thunder.

The Thunder struck in the bottom of the first inning against Tom Windle as Aaron Judge hit a sacrifice fly and Dan Fiorito hit a RBI single to take a 2-0 lead. Two more runs crossed for the Thunder off Windle in the bottom of the third inning to extend their lead to 4-0. Aaron Judge hit a solo home run off Tyler Knigge in the bottom of the 8th inning to give Trenton a 5-0 lead.

Tom Windle allowed four runs in five innings as he gave up six hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Joely Rodriguez pitched a scoreless inning in his Fightin Phils debut issuing just one walk. Hoby Milner tossed a scoreless inning. Cameron Perkins 17-game hitting streak came to an end as he went 0 for 4.

The Fightin Phils return to Baseballtown on Friday night to begin a eight-game home stand. First pitch is at 7:05 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 6:35 pm. Fans can also view the game on MiLB.tv beginning at 7:05 pm.
