Thursday, June 18, 2015 - Games #65 - Road Game #32

Hadlock Field - Portland, ME - 6:00 PM

LAST GAME: The B-Mets pushed their winning streak to six with a 3-1 win over Portland Wednesday night at Hadlock Field. Luis Cessa earned his sixth win of the year, allowing a run and five hits in eight innings. The eight innings were the most for a B-Met starter this year. Paul Sewald pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning for his 11th save of the year. Brock Peterson drove in another run, while Michael Conforto extended his hitting streak with an RBI double.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Michael Fulmer is making his eighth start with Binghamton this season and the first of his career against Portland. He allowed two hits in four shutout innings against New Britain in his last start, before rain cut it short. Fulmer is aiming for his first win since May 9th. He has pitched to a 1.64 ERA in two road starts.

PORTLAND STARTER: RHP William Cuevas is making his 12th start of the season and the third against Binghamton. The righty tossed six shutout innings against Bowie in his last outing, striking out eight in a no-decision. Cuevas has lost each of his last two starts at Hadlock Field. He's 2-0 against the B-Mets this year with a 2.20 ERA (3 ER, 12.1 IP). Righties are batting .190 against the starter.

WIN STREAK: Binghamton has won six in a row for the second time this season. A win Thursday would give them their longest winning streak since August 18-24, 2011, when they also won seven straight. Three of those wins came at Hadlock Field.

SERIES WINNERS: The B-Mets have won three consecutive series, after going winless in their previous eight (0-6-2). It's the first time Binghamton has won three straight series since August 15-24, 2014. A win Thursday would give the B-Mets back-to-back sweeps for the first time since August 19-24, 2011. A sweep of Portland at Hadlock Field was included.

GETTING ON THE GOOD FOOT: Binghamton has scored first in six of their last seven wins. Overall, the B-Mets are 22-8 when scoring before their opponents this season. Binghamton has scored in the first two innings in each of their last four games.

RISP: Opponents are hitting .139 (5-36) with RISP during the B-Mets current six game winning streak.

HADLOCK FIELD: The B-Mets have won seven straight games at Hadlock Field, including the final two games of last year's Eastern Division Championship Series. The B-Mets have outscored the SeaDogs 35-13 in the five games at Hadlock Field this season.

STEADY AS A BROCK: Brock Peterson has 14 RBI in his first 10 games with Binghamton. He has driven a run in seven of the 10 games, including five multiple-RBI games. Peterson has hit with men on-base in 23 of his 36 at-bats, batting .478 in those situations. Peterson has also registered a hit in each of his past eight games.

FIRST IMPRESSION: Michael Conforto has reached base in all 16 games played with the B-Mets, recording a base hit in 14 of them. He has a hit in each of his last seven games, his second seven-game hitting streak with the B-Mets this year.

STARTING ROTATION: The B-Mets starting rotation has pitched to a 1.46 ERA during Binghamton's six game winning streak. The starters have four wins during the winning streak, after compiling four total wins in their previous 29 starts. Luis Cessa's eight innings pitched Wednesday night were the most for a B-Met starter this year.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets head to New Hampshire for a four game series, beginning Friday night at 7:00 PM. RHP Robert Gsellman gets the ball for Binghamton against LHP John Anderson.
