Hershey Bears News Release

The HERSHEY BEARS Hockey Club played to the shootout for the first two times this season on Friday at Syracuse and on Saturday against Albany. Boyd Kane and Jacob Micflikier scored the BEARS' goals in the opening period. Dany Sabourin made big stops late in regulation and overtime, but was beaten twice in the shootout to send the Crunch to a 3-2 victory. Saturday's contest was a back-and forth offensive affair, with Graham Mink and Dmitry Orlov putting the BEARS up 2-0 in the first. Albany scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 second period lead. HERSHEY would erase that lead along with deficits of 4-3 and 5-4 to force overtime, helped out by Chris Bourque's pair of power-play goals and a late score from Kane. But after missing on an overtime power play chance, Micflikier's first-round shootout goal was all the club could muster. The Devils scored on Braden Holtby in rounds two through four to grab the extra point in a 6-5 win. HERSHEY will host the Providence Bruins on Wednesday, and will head to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for Black Friday before hosting the Lake Erie Monsters on Saturday night. Dmitry Orlov, who tallied a goal and two assists on Saturday, was recalled by the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

Super Power

The BEARS continue their perfection in home power play success, scoring at least one goal in every home game. Saturday's three-goal effort gives the club an incredible 38.1% success rate at home (16-for-42), and their 22-for-73 effort overall (30.1%) takes over first place in the league. The 22 power-play goals now ties for the most in the AHL.

Six for Chris

LW Chris Bourque scored his fifth and sixth power-play goals of the season in Saturday's shootout loss to Albany. Bourque is now tied for second in the AHL in power-play goals, and his nine total goals lead the BEARS. His 20 points overall (9G, 11A) tie for sixth in the AHL.

Micflikier Powers to the Top

F Jacob Micflikier recorded two assists on Saturday to set up two BEARS' power play tallies. Micflikier has totaled 12 power play points (4G, 8A) and now leads the AHL in the category. His 19 points overall (8G, 11A) rank ninth in the league.

Aucoin is Money

C Keith Aucoin added a power-play assist on Saturday to total nine for the season, tied for tops in the AHL. His 17 total assists rank second overall, and his 21 points rank tied for fourth.

"Movember" is Ford Month:
