Amerks Fans Invited to Take Part in "Teddy Bear Toss"
November 21, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today the team will hold its first "Teddy Bear Toss" when the Amerks host the Albany Devils at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25 at The Blue Cross Arena.
Any fan that presents a new Teddy Bear at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office prior to Friday's game will be able to purchase a ticket in the best available seating location for just $12. Then, during the first intermission, fans will be encouraged to "toss" their Teddy Bears onto the ice. All of the bears that get tossed onto the ice surface will be collected and donated to Ronald McDonald House. Fans that donate a Teddy Bear will also be entered into a raffle for an Amerks autographed team stick. Fans participating in the "Teddy Bear Toss" will receive their raffle ticket in the upper atrium upon their arrival at The Blue Cross Arena. The winner will be announced following the toss in the first intermission.
The Teddy Bear toss continues a month-long initiative by the Amerks to donate items to local charities. Thanks to the generosity of Amerks fans, the team has been able to donate coats to the Open Door Mission, non-perishable food items to Foodlink, and care packages items for local troops to Blue Star Moms ROC.
Friday night's game will also be the second of five "$5 Parking Nights" this season in the Civic Center Garage, which is being offered by the Amerks and Mapco Auto Parks Limited, representing a $2.50 savings. For more information on the Amerks, visit www.amerks.com or call 1-855-GO-AMERKS.
