In a rollercoaster contest, the Devils prevailed with a 6-5 shootout victory against Hershey at Giant Center. Mike Sislo, Matt Anderson and Steve Bernier each scored in the shootout, helping Albany to its first ever victory in Hershey. Keith Kinkaid made three of four shootout saves and finished regulation and overtime with 28 stops. Chad Wiseman, Steve Zalewski and Vladimir Zharkov had multi-point efforts with a pair of assists each.

Notables
- The Devils have a flare for the dramatic with eight of their nine wins coming in one-goal games. The team is 8-0-1-1 in one-goal games with its only other win coming in a 5-2 victory against Adirondack on Oct. 22.
- Albany holds the longest point streak in the AHL with points in each of the last eight games, going 6-0-1-1 during that stretch. The club record for consecutive games with at least a point is nine (5-0-0-4) between Mar. 3-23 during the 2006-07 season.
- The team's six goals against Hershey was its highest output of the season and the highest since a 6-2 win against Adirondack on Mar. 29, 2011.
- The Devils are holding opponents to 28.35 shots per game, which is the eighth lowest total in the AHL. Through 17 games, Albany has limited its competition to 25 or fewer shots seven times.
- Albany is 2-1 in shootouts this season with wins against Connecticut (3-2) on Oct. 15 and at Hershey (6-5) Saturday. The one loss came against Connecticut (3-2) on Nov. 5.
- Current point streaks include: Nathan Perkovich (3 gms; 3g-0a), Steve Bernier (2gms; 2g-0a), Matt Taormina (2gms; 0g-2a), Chad Wiseman (2gms; 0g-3a), Darcy Zajac (2gms; 1g-1a), Steve Zalewski (2gms; 0g-3a).
- Nathan Perkovich's three-game goal streak is tied for second longest in the AHL. After going scoreless in his first 12 outings, Perkovich netted goals at Syracuse (Nov. 12), against Toronto (Nov. 13) and at Hershey (Nov. 19). His goal total ranks tied for fourth on the team.
- Vladimir Zharkov was returned on loan to Albany by New Jersey Thursday. He had a pair of hard-earned assists at Hershey Saturday for his seventh and eighth points of the season. Zharkov is averaging a team-leading 0.80 points-per-game with at least one point in seven of 10 games.
- Alexander Urbom leads the squad with a plus-5 rating with the help of a plus-7 rating in the last seven contests.
