
IceHogs Take Shootout in Week 7

Entering Friday's contest against the division-leading Charlotte Checkers, the Rockford IceHogs were riding a three game skid. But in their first shootout of the season, Rockford rebounded by defeating Charlotte 3-2 after outdistancing the Checkers 3-1 in the extra session. The IceHogs were unable to keep up the pace on Sunday, falling to the Checkers in the teams' third meeting. Rockford continued to struggle at home earlier in the week, falling to the Oklahoma City Barons at the BMO ¬ËHarris Bank Center.

Beginning Wednesday, the IceHogs open up a season-high five-game homestand. The IceHogs will play on home ice in 10 of their next 13 contests and are in the midst of a six-game losing streak (0-6-0-0) at the BMO Harris Bank Center
The home losing streak dates back to Oct. 22 when the IceHogs fell to Chicago 4-1 at home
Friday's shootout in Charlotte was Rockford's first shootout of the season in 15 games
Dating back to Dec. 10, 2010, Rockford has participated in just three shootouts in their last 70 games
Center Brandon Pirri has 2g-5a-7pts over his past five games. Pirri now leads Rockford with 15 points, including 5g-10a
Rockford is 1-6-0-0 when they outshoot their opponent this season and 5-1-0-0 when they are outshot
Rockford has recorded 30 or more shots on goal in 12-straight games dating back to Oct. 21, averaging 37.2 shots on goal per game during that stretch
The IceHogs are averaging 3.44 goals per game over their past nine games but have a record of 3-5-1-0 during that time period
Hot Hog: Week 7:
Rostislav Olesz Left Wing
In his first two games with the IceHogs after getting reassigned by Chicago, Rostislav Olesz put up two multi-point nights in Week 7. The winger potted a goal and an assist in regulation on Friday night and added a tally in the shootout to help propel the IceHogs to a 3-2 win at Charlotte. On Saturday, Olesz chipped in with another goal and assist in Rockford's 4-3 loss against the Checkers. Overall, Olesz figured in on four of Rockford's five goals over the weekend.
Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, Nov. 23 vs. San Antonio: The IceHogs return to the BMO ¬ËHarris Bank Center at 7:05 p.m. to take on the San Antonio Rampage for the first of four meetings this season. The first 1,500 fans 21-and-older get an IceHogs bottle opener thanks to Bud Light. Also take advantage of Taco Bell Dollar Days at the BMO Harris Bank Center, as fans can get $1 beers, sodas, hot dogs and companion tickets.
Friday, Nov. 25 vs. Peoria: Game time is 7:05 p.m. as the Peoria Rivermen return to the BMO ¬ËHarris Bank Center for another Illinois Lottery Cup tilt. It's also Country Night at the BMO Harris Bank Center, as the PennyMaeDixon Band will perform before the game and during the two intermissions. Country Night is sponsored by Q98.5.
Saturday, Nov. 26 vs. Oklahoma City: The game gets underway at 7:05 p.m. as the Oklahoma City Barons return to the BMO ¬ËHarris Bank Center for the two teams' second meeting of the season and final showdown in Rockford. The IceHogs travel to Oklahoma City on Jan. 13 and March 13.

Bud Light Hog Talk will not make its weekly appearance at Granite City Food and Brewery tonight. Most weeks, fans can join Mike Peck from 6-7 p.m. as he chats with IceHogs players, coaches and front office members. Take advantage of food and Bud Light specials.
