LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS
vs. Worcester (11/18):
Defenseman Andrew Campbell scored at 3:55 of the overtime period to lift the Manchester Monarchs over the Worcester Sharks, 3-2 in overtime, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night. Right wing Jordan Nolan scored two shorthanded goals for the Monarchs. Scoring the goals for the Sharks were defenseman Matt Irwin and left wing Brian Mashinter. Monarchs goaltender Martin Jones earned his fifth victory of the season making 34 saves on 36 shots faced. Sharks netminder Harri Sateri took his third loss of the season stopping 32-of-35 shots. Manchester went 0-for-7 on the power play. Worcester was 1-for-8 with the man advantage.
vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (11/19):
The Manchester Monarchs picked up their third consecutive victory at the Verizon Wireless Arena, a 4-3 shootout win against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins during Mullets In Movember on Saturday night. Defenseman Andrew Campbell, right wing Jordan Nolan and right wing Linden Vey tallied goals for the Monarchs. The Penguins received goals from right wing Niko Dimitrakos, forward Ben Street and defenseman Robert Bortuzzo. Scoring for Manchester in the shootout were left wing David Meckler, center Marc-Andre Cliche and Nolan. Center Jason WIlliams scored the lone shootout goal for the Penguins. Monarchs goaltender Jeff Zatkoff earned his fourth victory of the season making 35 saves on 38 shots in regulation and stopping 3-of-4 shootout snipers. Penguins netminder Brad Thiessen took his first shootout loss of the season making 25 saves on 28 shots in regulation and 2-of- 5 shootout attempts. Manchester went 1-for-4 on the power play. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton was 1-for-6 with the man advantage.

The Manchester Monarchs (9-9-0-1) are in second place in the Atlantic Division with 19 points. The St. John's IceCaps (12-3-3-0) sit in first place in the division with 27 points. The Providence Bruins (8-10-1-1) are in third place in the division with 18 points. The Portland Pirates (8-7-0-1) rank fourth in the division with 17 points. Monarchs center Andrei Loktionov (3-11=14) leads the team in both assists (11) and points (14).
Loktionov was recalled by the Los Angeles Kings on Monday, November 14 and earned his first point of the season by assisting on center Mike Richards' second period goal in a 5-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday, November 17.
In 23 career games with the Kings, Loktionov has eight points (4-4=8) and four penalty minutes.
Monarchs center Marc-Andre Cliche (7-4=11) leads the team with seven goals and a plus/minus of plus-8.
Cliche and right wing Jordan Nolan (5-6=11) are tied for second on the Monarchs with 11 points.
Nolan tallied two shorthanded goals in a 3-2 overtime win for the Monarchs on Friday, November 18. Nolan also tallied an assist on defenseman Andrew Campbell's (2-4=6) game-winning goal in overtime that game.
Nolan's two shorthanded goals mark the second time this season an AHL player has tallied two shorthanded goals in a game. The other player was Grand Rapids Griffins right wing Chris Conner who registered two shorthanded goals in a 3-0 victory against the Hamilton Bull Dogs on Tuesday, October 18.
Nolan has four points (3-1=4) in his last two games.
Manchester left wing Richard Clune (3-4=7) leads the league with 74 penalty minutes this season.
Defenseman Jake Muzzin (3-6=9) leads Monarchs defensemen in goals (three) and is tied with defenseman David Kolomatis (2-5=7) for points with nine each this season.
Kolomatis leads Monarchs defensemen with seven assists.
Campbell is currently on a two-game goal streak. The defenseman tallied the game-winning goal in overtime, his first goal of the season, on Friday, November 18 and scored his second tally on Saturday, November 19. Goaltender Martin Jones owns a 5-7-0 record, a 2.44 goals-against-average and a .924 save percentage on the season for the Monarchs.
Monarchs netminder Jeff Zatkoff has registered a 2.50 goals-against-average, a .922 save percentage and a record of 4-2-1 on the season.
Zatkoff has won his last three consecutive starts.
MONARCHS PROMOTIONS
Toys For Tots - The Monarchs and Toys for Tots will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for families in need this holiday season. Donations will be taken when the Monarchs drop the puck against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
Love for Lokomotiv - The Monarchs will honor the players from the Russian hockey league's Lokomotiv Yaroslav who lost their lives in a tragic plane crash on September 7, 2011 by selling red "Love for Lokomotiv" bracelets for $10 each. All proceeds will go to the Lokomotiv player's families. The red bracelets are being sold on the concourse at the next two Monarchs home games on November 23 and 26.
