January 10 @ Las Vegas, 4-2 Win - Shaun Sutter, Jan Sochor and Dustin VanBallegooie staked Fresno to a 3-0 lead, and Jamie Hodson made 38 saves in goal as the Falcons defeated the Wranglers in the second game of a four-game road trip.

January 14 @ Alaska, 2-1 Win - In the first of a two-game set in Alaska, Dustin VanBallegooie scored his third goal of the year 25 seconds into the final period to give Fresno a 2-1 lead. The Falcons defense and goaltender Jamie Hodson made it stand-up over the final 19:35 for VanBallegooie's second game-winning goal in a row.

January 15 @ Alaska, 2-1 Shootout Win - In the finale against the Aces, Derek Krestanovich scored for Fresno early in the first period before Alaska tied the contest mid-way through the third to send the game to overtime. Still tied at one through the five-minute extra session, the Falcons prevailed in the shootout after goals from Dan Tessier and David Brisson and four of five saves from Jamie Hodson.

THIS WEEK'S UPCOMING GAMES

Tuesday, Jan. 18 vs. Pensacola, 7 p.m. - The South Division-leading Pensacola Ice Pilots, featuring Derek Krestanovich's older brother Jordan, arrive at Save Mart Center to battle the Falcons. It is a Two-for-Tuesday, with two-for-one game admission coupons available at participating Carl's Jr. locations.

Sunday, Jan. 23 vs. Las Vegas, 5 p.m. - The Wranglers make their first visit to Save Mart Center since the first game of the season. It is a Falcons Family day with four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks costing just $40.

NOTES

. The Falcons are still unbeaten in the New Year with a record of 7-0-1 in 2005.

. Goaltender Jamie Hodson is undefeated in shootouts this season with a 5-0 record. His five shootout wins lead the league, and he is fourth in the ECHL with a shootout save percentage of 82.6%.

. Derek Krestanovich strung together an eight-game point streak (5g-6a) that was finally ended during Friday's game at Alaska, but he bounced back on Saturday with his 14th goal of the season. He currently stands 15th in scoring among league rookies.

. Shaun Sutter scored his team-leading seventh power play goal against Las Vegas, tying him for fourth across the league.

. All-Star Dan Tessier still leads the team in scoring with 37 points (15g-22a), placing him seventh in the ECHL.

. The Falcons are ranked 12th (17.2%) on the power play and 16th (83.2%) on the penalty kill.

. Fresno begins the week in a three-way tie for third place in the West Division with the San Diego Gulls and Alaska Aces. They trail the first-place Bakersfield Condors by nine points in the standings.
