
Falcons Set To Host Inaugural Falcons Cup

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they will host the first annual Falcons Cup on Saturday, November 22, 2008 when the Western New England College Golden Bears take on the Westfield State College Owls at the MassMutual Center. Game time is 2:00 pm and the $10.00 admission is good for both the Falcons Cup game and the Falcons contest against the Providence Bruins starting at 7:00 pm.
"We are thrilled to be a part of the inaugural Falcons Cup," said Chris Bernard, WNEC Golden Bears Men's Head Hockey Coach. "It is a great testament to our hockey community that the Falcons are launching this event. WNEC can't wait to show how far our program has come and renew a rivalry with Westfield (State)."
"Our program is very excited about the inaugural Falcons Cup." said Jerry Keefe, Westfield State Owls Men's Head Hockey Coach. "We are looking forward to playing in a great hockey city with a lot of tradition and I know our players are excited about playing at the MassMutual Center and being able to watch the Falcons that night."

The Springfield Falcons return to action this weekend when they head to Portland, Maine to take on the Pirates on Friday, November 7, followed by a visit to Hartford on Saturday, November 8. Springfield doesn't return home until Friday, November 14 when they take on the Syracuse Crunch at the MassMutual Center.
