Falcons Host Devils With Playoff Spot On The Line Tuesday

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons can become the first AHL team to clinch a spot in the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs on Tuesday night when they host the Albany Devils at the MassMutual Center, with the opening face-off scheduled for 7 p.m.

Springfield will lock up a spot in the AHL's postseason with a regulation or overtime win against Albany. The Falcons can also wrap up a berth with a shootout victory over the Devils combined with a loss by the Norfolk Admirals to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The Falcons have won five-straight games to move into a four-way tie for first place in the Eastern Conference. Springfield can win the F.G. (Teddy) Oke Trophy as the Northeast Division champion with a regulation victory over Connecticut on Friday in Hartford regardless of Tuesday's results.

Tuesday's game is presented by Mohawk Communications. Prior to the contest, the Falcons will recognize Massachusetts Boys High School Ice Hockey State Tournament champions Westfield (Division 3) and Agawam (Division 3A).

Single-game tickets to see the Falcons in 2012-2013 can be purchased at the MassMutual Center Box Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. through game time on Saturday home dates, and starting four hours prior to Sunday home contests.
