Garret Sparks Signed to ATO

The Toronto Marlies announced Monday the team has signed goaltender Garret Sparks to an Amateur Try Out (ATO) contract. Sparks will join the team for their next game against Lake Erie on Wednesday.

Sparks, 19, posted a record of 36-17-0-4, a 2.65 goals against average and a 0.917 save percentage in 60 games with Guelph in 2012-13. The 6-3, 205-pound native of Elmhurst, IL led the OHL in minutes played (3340), wins (36), and shutouts (7) this season. Sparks also won a gold medal with the United States at the 2013 World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia.

The Marlies return to the ice on Wednesday morning when they host the Lake Erie Monsters, AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche. Puck drop is 11 a.m. For all Toronto Marlies ticket inquiries, please call the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
