Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, Neb. - Entering the game with the second fewest home runs allowed in the Pacific Coast League, the Omaha Storm Chasers (44-53) allowed a season-high six home runs to the Round Rock Express in a 10-3 loss in the final game before the All-Star Break.

Manny Ramirez was one of six different Express batters to hit a home run, the second most allowed by the Storm Chasers at Werner Park in the stadium's history. Each of the five pitchers used for Omaha on the day gave up at least one home run, and Chasers PCL All-Star Representative Chris Dwyer allowed two in a shortened start allowing him to pitch in Wednesday's All-Star Game in Reno. Ramirez has now hit three homers in his eight games for Round Rock, including two in the series in Omaha.

The Chasers had not allowed more than three homers in a game since they allowed four homers in two games in the month of April, and had given up only 72 in their first 96 games this year. The long ball amount was the most since Omaha allowed seven homers to the New Orleans Zephyrs on June 2, 2011 in a 22-6 loss.

The Storm Chasers managed only five hits on the day, and no extra-base hits, and second baseman Chris Getz accounted for three of the singles. Getz has 20 hits in 14 games for Omaha this season, and has hit safely in nine of his last ten games while posting a .370 batting average (17-for-46) during that stretch.

The Storm Chasers will return to action on Thursday when they make their second and final trip to visit the Albuquerque Isotopes this season. Omaha won three of four at Isotopes Park in the first series of the season there all the way back in April 8-11.
