TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers suffered a 4-0 shutout loss to the Reno Aces at Cheney Stadium on Sunday. The defeat sealed a four-game series sweep of the Rainiers for the Aces.

Reno jumped ahead 1-0 in the top of the second thanks to Tuffy Gosewisch's RBI double in the top of the inning. Mike Jacobs doubled Tacoma's deficit with a run-scoring single in the third.

Brad Snyder stretched the Aces lead to four runs after delivering a two-run home run in the fourth inning - the outfielder's sixth homer with Reno this season.

The Rainiers lineup was limited t five hits. Outfielder Abraham Almonte's double in the top of the eighth inning served as the club's only extra-base knock. Infielder Scott Savastano singled in the fifth inning to stretch his season-high hitting streak to six games.

Blake Beavan, in his first start since being optioned to Tacoma from Seattle on July 12, was dealt the loss after surrendering four runs on 10 hits over five innings. The right-hander struck out one and walked one in his seventh start for the Rainiers this season.

Tacoma enters the All-Star Break holding a one-game lead over the Salt Lake Bees for first place in the Pacific Coast League's Pacific Northern Division.

The Rainiers enjoy a three-day layoff before opening a four-game series at the Fresno Grizzlies on Thursday, July 18. The starting pitchers for both clubs have yet to be announced. First pitch from Chukchansi Park is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
