Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, Fla - Coming off back-to-back losses to open the three-game set in the Upstate region of South Carolina, the Florida Everblades look to salvage a win in the series finale with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits before returning to the Sunshine State. Sunday's matinee will get started at 3:05 pm.

THE OPPONENT: With Saturday's 3-0 victory, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits improved their record to 13-15-3-3, which places them fifth in the South Division with 32 points and a .471 points percentage. The win lifted the Swamp Rabbits to a four-game winning streak and evened their record over the last 10 games to 4-4-0-2. Inside the friendly surroundings of Bon Secours Wellness Arena, Greenville has improved to 10-6-3-0.

THE SERIES: Last night's setback evened the season series between Florida and Greenville at 3-3. After the Blades opened the 2021-22 series with three straight wins by a 12-5 combined margin, Greenville has taken three straight games from the Blades by a 10-4 count. The teams next meet March 2, 4 and 5 at Hertz Arena, the first series between the rivals on Everblades' home ice.

SUNDAY FUNDAY: The Everblades have hit the ice for four Sunday games this season and have earned at least one point in each of the four games, recording a 2-0-2-0 mark. Florida picked up a 4-1 win at Worcester on November 7 and claimed a 5-0 triumph at Orlando on December 26. The Blades earned single points in 3-2 overtime losses to Atlanta on November 14 and January 2. After the series finale in Greenville, just two more Sunday tilt looms on the schedule, February 13 in Orlando and February 27 at South Carolina Stingrays.

FOUR-GAME STREAKS HALTED: Avery Peterson and Joe Pendenza had their respective four-game streaks halted on Saturday. Peterson had scored a goal in each of his first four games as a member of the Everblades, while Pendenza had registered two goals and two assists over his past four contests. Peterson was the first Blade to tickle the twine in four straight games this season.

GOODBYE, GREENVILLE: Following the current series in Greenville, the Everblades will head south and make a two-day pit stop in Central Florida for a pair of contests against the Orlando Solar Bears on Thursday, February 3 and Friday, February 4, with both matchups at the Amway Center getting underway at 7:00 pm. The Blades and Bears will meet up at Hertz Arena on Saturday, February 5 at 7:00 pm. In addition to our Saturday Night Tailgate party featuring live music by James Prather from 5-7 pm, it will also be Beach Night!
