Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL- Daniel Altshuller stopped all 21 shots faced to help lift the Florida Everblades to their fifth win in a row as they shutout the Idaho Steelheads 3-0 Saturday night at Germain Arena.
After a scoreless first period, the Everblades turned on the offense, scoring two goals in the middle period.
Corey Cowick got things started seven minutes into the second period, rushing the net and jabbing at the puck in front of Maxime Legace giving the Everblades the 1-0 lead.
Four minutes later on an Everblades power play, Corey Syvret broke down the right wing side and received a pass from across the ice. Syvret lifted the puck behind Legace for the second goal of the night for the "?Blades.
The Everblades took their 2-0 lead into the third period where the Steelheads tried to get back into it late pulling their goaltender with a minute remaining in the game.
The Everblades capitalized on the empty net as Jon DiSalvatore scored his first goal of the year from the other side of the ice.
Daniel Altshuller gets the win in goal for the Everblades stopping all 21 of the Steelheads' shots to earn his second shutout of the season, and the third of his career. Legace takes home the loss giving up two goals on 32 shots.
The Everblades will be back at home Wednesday Nov. 18 against the Wheeling Nailers. Game time is set at 7:30 p.m.
