Today, the Erie SeaWolves look to take the series finale from the Richmond Flying Squirrels and remain perfect in series-deciding games. The SeaWolves are currently 5-0 in rubber matches. Erie evened the series last night when Sergio Alcantara drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the ninth inning to win 4-3. It was the first SeaWolves walk-off win of the year and first since July 13, 2018 when Jake Rogers drew a bases-loaded walk in the 11th inning to beat Altoona. Casey Mize makes his fourth start for the SeaWolves and is coming off a five-inning no-decision on May 10 at Altoona. Mize allowed his first two Double-A earned runs and surrendered a career-high seven hits in the start. He struck out four and walked one. Alfred Gutierrez goes for the Flying Squirrels, making his seventh start of the season. The 23-year old is 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA across 22.2 innings and opponents are hitting .279 against him. Gutierrez took a loss in his last start on May 10 at Bowie, despite allowing one run in five innings while striking out four. The Venezuela native spent the first seven seasons of his pro career in the Detroit Tigers system after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2012. The right-hander was a Mid-Season All-Star for High-A Lakeland in 2018 and debuted for the SeaWolves on July 13, 2018. He made seven starts for Erie and compiled a 6.09 ERA in 34 innings.
