Tonight, the Erie SeaWolves look for a series win as they take on the Reading Fightin Phils in the rubber game of a three-game set at First Energy Stadium. Last night, the SeaWolves notched their ninth shutout win of the season as they took down Reading 3-0. Alex Faedo struck out a career-high 12 batters in 6.1 scoreless innings. The 12 strikeouts were the most by an Erie pitcher since April 29, 2006. Anthony Castro starts the series finale for the 'Wolves and coming off his worst outing of the season on May 25 against Bowie. In one-plus inning out of the bullpen, the right-hander surrendered a season-high six earned runs on four hits while walking three and striking out one. Mauricio Llovera toes the rubber for Reading having allowing two or more earned runs in each of his past four starts. His last start on May 24 at Harrisburg, Llovera received the loss after giving up five earned runs on six hits in 4.1 innings. He walked one and hit a pair while striking out five. The right-hander joined the Philadelphia Phillies organization in 2015 as an 18-year old free agent from Venezuela.

- Tonight is the third of nine meetings in 2019 between Erie and Reading (six at FirstEnergy Stadium - May 27-29 & June 11-13, three at UPMC Park - August 13-15)

- Erie's 3-0 win last night was the ninth shutout victory of the season and sixth in the month of May

- Alex Faedo's 12 strikeouts in last night's win were the most strikeouts by an Erie pitcher since Humberto Sanchez fanned 13 on April 29, 2006 against Binghamton. Current Erie skipper Mike Rabelo was the catcher that night

- Erie hit a league-best .270 in its first 16 games. In 32 games since, the SeaWolves are hitting .232 (.185 in past six games)

- The SeaWolves +23 run differential is second-best in the EL and the Phils +11 is fifth

- Erie is tied for second in the Eastern League with a .245 team batting average while Reading is last at .219

- Reading has grounded into a league-low 20 double plays while Erie is fifth with 31 GIDP's

- The Phils leads the league with 49 stolen bases while Erie has swiped the fourth-fewest bags with 24

- Erie hitters have struck out 391 times (fewest in the EL) while Reading batters have gone down on strikeouts 440 times (third)

- Erie pitching is sixth in the league in team ERA (3.50) while Reading is third in team ERA (3.38)

- Erie boasts the league's fourth-best defense (.981 fielding percentage) while Reading is second-best (.984)

- The SeaWolves went 11-4 vs. the Fightin Phils in 2018 and 6-2 at FirstEnergy Stadium
