Twin Bill Between Curve and Thunder Postponed on Thursday

TRENTON, N.J. - The first game of Thursday's double-header between the Altoona Curve and Trenton Thunder has been suspended due to rain. After a two-and-a-half-hour rain delay pushed the start of the game back, the Curve jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the rain returned in the third inning. Jared Oliva had a 1-0 count with two outs and a runner on second base.

Since the game was started in the first half, the game will count towards the first half standings when it is concluded. The finale of the three-game series in Trenton will be moved to the second half, leaving Altoona with 69 games in the first half of the schedule.

The Curve will return home Friday to open up a three-game series against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. with gates opening at 5 p.m. at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

Friday's contest will feature special promotions before, during and after the game. The Curve will be rebranded as the Allegheny Yinzers, complete with black and gold uniforms presented by Keller Engineers, along with Pittsburgh-style concessions upgrades available. Postgame fireworks will cap off the night with tunes set to Pittsburgh sports jams. It is also a special tribute to the Class of 2019 for Graduation Night and the Curve Concert Series, presented by Unlimited Cycle Center, featuring live pregame music from Ed N Born. Each Friday in Curve, Pa. is also FastPlay Friday, where fans 18 and older can text in the weekly code for a FREE FastPlay ticket from the Pennsylvania Lottery.
