Tonight, the SeaWolves continue a six-game homestand as they host the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) in the middle game of a three-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the Sea Dogs used the long ball as they scored five runs on home runs en route to a 5-4 win in the series opener over Erie. The 'Wolves outhit the Sea Dogs 15-6 in the game but came out on the short end. The loss puts the SeaWolves at two games below .500 and they are in fifth place in the Western Division, four games out of first. The entire EL West is separated by 4.5 games...Erie is in a stretch of 13 consecutive game and 18 of 21 against the Eastern Division. The 'Wolves are also in a stretch where the club will play 29 games in a span on 28 days with a doubleheader on 5/28 vs. BNG...Righty Jacob Turner takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his 12th start. Turner took his fifth straight no-decision in his last start at Altoona on June 9. In the game, he allowed four runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in six innings of work. He left with the game tied 4-4 and the 'Wolves lost the game 5-4. In six home starts, Turner is 1-1 with a 2.85 ERA. He has allowed seven home runs on the season with five coming at home. Turner has not earned a decision since May 9 in a win over Akron...RHP Brock Huntzinger takes the mound for the Sea Dogs making his 11th start. He took a no-decision in his last start against Richmond. In the game, he allowed a run on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in six innings of work. Huntzinger has allowed one run over his last 12.0 innings pitched with 14 strikeouts. He is 1-3 with a 7.78 ERA in five road starts.
