TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Binghamton Mets will meet in game two of a three-game series...The Binghamton Mets scored five runs in the top of the first inning and held off the Flying Squirrels the rest of the way as the B-Mets claimed a 6-4, series-opening win on Tuesday night in front of 6,685 fans at The Diamond.

FALSE START: The Binghamton Mets scored five runs in the top of the first inning en route to a 6-4, series-opening win over the Flying Squirrels...The five runs allowed in the first inning matched the most given up by Richmond in the two-year history of the franchise...The club gave up five runs in the bottom of the first inning 5/26/10 at Binghamton...The five runs scored by the B-Mets matched the club's largest offensive inning of the season.

ROAD BLOCK: The Flying Squirrels have been at .500 five times since 4/15; however, the team has been unable to get a win on any of those occasions...The club has not been above the .500 since being 5-4 on 4/15.

OPEN AND SHUT: The Flying Squirrels dropped their seventh consecutive series opener, falling last night to the B-Mets 6-4...The club is now 9-11 in series openers this season...Even though the Richmond lost the series opener in each of their last three sets, the team has won three consecutive series...It is just the second time in the two-year history of the franchise that Richmond has won three consecutive series...The club also won three straight series 7/29/10-8/15/10 (7-3).

THE JOLLY ROGER: Outfielder Roger Kieschnick is batting .325 (39-for-120) over his last 31 games with six doubles, two triples, four home runs, 17 RBIs and 17 runs scored...The 24-year-old has 15 multi-hit games over that span which also includes a season-long eight-game hit streak...He has raised his batting average from .173 to .254 since 5/7...Kieschnick currently has hits in five straight games (8-for-21), his team-leading fourth hit streak of five games or more.

PITCHING IN: The Flying Squirrels pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.82 ERA through 62 games, the only staff with a sub-three ERA...Richmond's 2.82 staff ERA is the lowest in all of MiLB...The pitching staff has logged a league-high 568 1/3 innings of work and has allowed a league-low 212 runs.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Flying Squirrels have begun a stretch where they will play 20 out of 27 games at home...The club is 19-12 at home and is batting .251 (268-for-1,067) in 31 games at The Diamond while averaging 4.16 runs per game at home (129R/31G)...Richmond recently completed a stretch where it played 13 of 16 games on the road...The team went 8-8 over that stretch including a 6-7 mark on the road...Overall, the club is 12-20 on the road, and is batting .201 (215-for-1,069) and averaging 3.22 runs per game (103R/32G) in 32 road contests.
