Today, the Erie SeaWolves look for a series split as they take on the Bowie Baysox in the final game of their season series at UPMC Park. Yesterday, Erie broke a six-game losing streak to Bowie by earning a 3-0 victory. Casey Mize hurled eight shutout innings and struck out six while Jose Azocar blasted a go-ahead, three-run home run in the eighth inning to lift the SeaWolves to victory. It was Erie's seventh shutout win of the season and fifth against Bowie. Matt Manning takes the mound today and is coming off a 6.2 inning shutout performance on May 21 at Hartford. Manning received his fourth win of the season, allowing two hits and tying a career-high with 10 strikeouts. In four starts against the Baysox this season, Manning owns a 1.90 ERA in 23.2 innings with 29 strikeouts. Alex Wells goes for Bowie, who pitched just two innings in his last start on May 20 versus Binghamton before exiting with an apparent injury. In his lone start against Erie on May 3, Wells surrendered three runs on six hits in four innings. He took the loss in a 5-0 SeaWolves victory.
