Tonight, the SeaWolves continue their seven-game road trip as they open up a four-game series at The Diamond against the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants). Yesterday afternoon, the 'Wolves struck for five early runs and took down the Bowie Baysox 6-1, winning their first road series of the season. Erie has now won back-to-back road games for the second time in 2011 and will look for their first three-game road win streak of the year tonight...Tonight will be Erie's first look at the Flying Squirrels who enter play with a 20-22 mark, tied with Erie for fifth place in the division. Richmond boasts the top pitching staff in the league with a 2.86 team ERA, allowing the fewest runs (147) in the league. Richmond's offense however is in the bottom half of the league. The Flying Squirrels are hitting .228 as a club which ranks 10th in the EL...The 'Wolves send lefty Casey Crosby to the mound making his eighth start of the season. Crosby tossed six shutout innings in his last start against Trenton, allowing four hits with three walks and three strikeouts. The SeaWolves won the game 1-0 but are just 2-5 in games started by Crosby...LHP Ryan Verdugo takes the mound for the Flying Squirrels making his eighth start. Verdugo picked up his second win of the season in his last start against Bowie allowing two runs on six hits with three walks and three strikeouts in five innings. As a team, the SeaWolves are hitting .276 against left-handed pitching this season.
