Rock Cats Have Player Transaction Today

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League had a player transaction today involving a left-handed relief Pitcher.

LHP Jake Stevens, a 26-year-old relief specialist who has been with New Britain since Opening Day/2011, has been promoted to Rochester in the International League. The 6'2"/215-pound southpaw made 14 appearances for the 2011 Rock Cats and departs the Hardware City with a record of 1 -2, with 2 Saves. His ERA in New Britain over 20.1 innings of work was 4.87.

The Cape Coral, FL resident was originally signed out of high school by the Atlanta Braves after they selected him in the 3rd Round of the 2003 Draft. He subsequently performed in both the Atlanta and San Francisco organizations before being signed by Minnesota as a Free Agent in November of 2010. Over portions of nine seasons, Stevens has a career MiLB record of 41-46, with 86 Saves and a 4.10 ERA.

He will join his new team in time for tonight's action.
