ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves take on the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) in doubleheader action at Metro Bank Park. Last night, the Senators fell behind Erie 3-0,
4-2 and 7-4 but battled back to defeat the 'Wovles 8-7. The loss was Erie's seventh straight to Harrisburg and it clinched the season series for the Senators. It is the first time since 2005 that the Senators have won the season series over the Howlers...Erie did not lose ground in the Southern Division wild card standings but failed to gain ground on the Reading Phillies who were shut out by New Britain. Entering the final seven games of the season, the 'Wolves are 1.5 games behind wild card leading Reading, a half game ahead of fourth place Bowie and two games ahead of fifth place Harrisburg. The four teams battling for the wild card are separated by 3.5 games...The 'Wolves are 2-9 at Metro Bank Park. Erie's last win in Harrisburg came on May 26 in a 6-3, 10 inning win...Erie is 2-8 in doubleheader games and 1-5 in
doubleehader games against the Senators...Santo De Leon has two home runs and six RBI in his last two games...Casper Wells is hitting 424 (14x33) over his last nine games. During that stretch he has three home runs (two in the last three games) and nine RBI. Wells is also on a 12-game hitting streak. His longest hitting streak of the season was July 10-28 (16 games)...Righty Brendan Wise will get the start for the 'Wolves in game one of tonight's doubleheader. It will be his first start of the season...Lefty Ramon Garcia will start for the 'Wolves in game two. Erie is 1-10 in games started by Garcia.
