ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look to make it two straight wins as they continue their seven-game road trip as they take on the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) in the middle game of a three-game series at Metro Bank Park. The 'Wolves won their second extra-innings game against the Senators in the series opener on Tuesday night,

6-3. Erie had a 3-2 lead into the ninth inning but Harrisburg tied the game and Erie eventually won in 10. The win improved Erie to 4-0 in extra innings games and to 7-4 on the season against the Senators. Last night's win, coupled with an Akron loss, means the 'Wolves gained a game on the first place Aeros. Erie enters tonight's game 5.5 games out of first with the second-best record in the EL at 26-18. Erie is also 1.5 games ahead of third place Reading in the EL south. Reading has won five straight...Erie is 3-2 on the current road trip and is a game under .500 on the road at 10-11...Lefty Jon Kibler takes the mound tonight for the Howlers as he makes his ninth start of the season and second against the Senators. Kibler took a loss in his first start against Harrisburg in a rain-shortened game on May 6 at Metro Bank Park. Kibler allowed a two-run home run to Harrisburg's Luke Montz with two outs in the sixth inning that night and the game would be called in the top of the seventh. Kibler picked up his second win of the season in his last start at Akron going 8.2 shutout innings, allowing seven hits with two walks while striking out a season-high six batters...Righty Luis Atilano takes the mound for the Senators. Atilano makes his eighth start and third against Erie. He is 0-1 with a no-decision against the 'Wolves. He has won two straight.
