Baysox Come Back Big

ALTOONA, PA - Brad Lincoln had another outstanding outing, but the Curve squandered a 3-0 lead in the final three innings, falling to Bowie 7-3 Wednesday morning at Blair County Ballpark.

Lincoln threw six scoreless innings allowing four hits and striking out five batters. Lincoln extended his team high scoreless innings streak to 19.0 putting him within striking distance of the franchise record of 23.0, by Franklin Perez in 2006, for his next start.

The Curve started off hot getting three runs on the board in the first inning. Jason Delaney drove in the first run on a single followed by recently acquired Jeff Corsaletti hitting a bloop single to right for the second run and then Delaney would score the final run of the inning on a passed ball.

Bowie would claw back into the game late though getting a run in the seventh on a Guillermo Rodriguez RBI single and then tying the game in the eighth with RBI singles by Mike Costanzo and Daniel Figueroa. Costanzo would then put the Baysox ahead on a double in the top of the ninth before Joe Nowicki broke the game open with a three run home run down the right field line off Curve reliever Josh Hill (0-1).

Altoona concludes its seven game homestand tomorrow morning against the Baysox. First pitch is scheduled for 10:35 a.m. with radio coverage beginning at 10:05 a.m. on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network.

Right hander Yoslan Herrera (2-0, 3.74) will get his fourth start of the season Thursday morning and he will be taking on righty Jake Arrieta (4-2, 2.97) for Bowie. Thursday will another School Kid's Day presented by Mid-Atlantic Dairy.
