ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves look for their fourth consecutive win as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the middle game of a three-game series at Blair County Ballpark. The Howlers won their third straight with a 19-2 win over the Curve last night. It was Erie's highest run total of the season and it was Altoona's worst loss in club history. The win also equaled Erie's season-high three-game road winning streak which has now been done three times. Erie has not won four straight on the road this season. Erie also looks for its first four-game winning streak since the club won a season-high six straight May 8-13...Erie has outscored opponents 31-6 in the last two games...Both of Erie's top two scoring games have come at Blair County Ballpark. 15 runs on May 2 and 19 runs last night. It marked the fourth time Erie has scored at least 10 runs against the Curve. Last night was the ninth time Erie has scored 10 or more runs in a game...Erie enters tonight's game in fourth place in the Southern Division, 8.5 games behind first place Akron, 2.5 games behind second place Reading and a half game behind third place Bowie. The ‘Wolves have won three of four on the road trip and seven of their last nine games...The ‘Wolves are hitting .297 over their last 10 games. Ryan Strieby is hitting .375 (12x32) with a pair of home runs and four RBI over his last eight games since returning from the DL. Alex Avila is hitting .361 (13x36) over his last 10 games with two home runs and 11 RBI. Avila has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games and has raised his batting average from .285 to .299 over that span...Erie needs one more victory over Altoona to win the season series.
